Peak Fall Colors to Arrive in the Higher Elevations of the Smokies This Week

The latest Fall Leaf Color Report from the GSMA is reporting that peak color in the higher elevations of the Smokies should occur this week. Here’s a snippet from the report:

At the highest elevations, fall has arrived. American mountain-ash has changed to orange or yellow and witch-hobble has gone to burgundy. The peak of color at the high elevations will likely occur around September 24-30.
